Kuwait: Mild tremors were felt this evening in Kuwait, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).
The 4.5 earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 km beneath the epicenter in the afternoon on Wednesday 11 November 2020 at 5.56 pm local time.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Al Wafrah (pop. 10,000) located 40 km from the epicenter, Al Aḩmadī (pop. 637,400) 48 km away, Al Jahrā’ (pop. 24,300) 50 km away, Al Faḩāḩīl (pop. 68,300) 52 km away, Ar Riqqah (pop. 52,100) 53 km away, Al Farwānīyah (pop. 86,500) 53 km away, Şabāḩ as Sālim (pop. 139,200) 58 km away, and Ḩawallī (pop. 164,200) 62 km away.
