Mangaluru, Nov 6: U T Khader, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, who is known as a Good Samaritan politician in Karnataka, this time saved the life of an army man, who was bitten by a poisonous snake in the wee hours.

Santosh Kumar, a soldier of the Indian Army and a resident of Mudipu Kodakallu on the outskirts of Mangaluru, was bitten by a poisonous snake.
The victim was rushed to a private hospital where his family members were informed that 10 injections were required for treatment and the hospital had no adequate stock.
The victim’s brother called the minister and sought his help around 1.15 am. Khader rushed to the private hospital and made arrangements for the supply of injections from Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru. Kumar is now recovering.
Santhosh Kumar had sustained serious injuries during an encounter with terrorists in Kupwara, Jammu, on October 12, 2016. He had come to his native to attend a family function.
