Motorcyclist hits car in overtake bid, crushed to death under wheels of bus

Bantwal, Sep 28: A youth riding on a motorcycle died in a ghastly road accident that occurred at Mani in Bantwal taluk on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Harish Poojary (28), son of Babu Poojary, who is a resident of Kabaka Kambalabettu in the taluk.

The accident occurred when Harish, who managed a furniture store at Alira village near Mani, was riding towards Mani on Sunday morning.

In his bid to overtake a Maruti Alto on the road to Mani, the bike which Harish was riding hit the Alto from behind, causing him lose control over the bike which instantly came under a government bus coming in the opposite direction.

As he fell under the wheels of the bus, Harish died on the spot.

Vittal police arrived on the scene and conducted investigation. A case has been registered.
