Udupi, Jan 9: Three people including a couple from Udupi’s Kundapur taluk lost their lives in a head-on collision between two cars today at Rangenahalli in Tarikere taluk of Chikkamagaluru district.
The tragedy took place when Anil Kumar and Ashwini were heading to Bengaluru along with their 11-month-old daughter. When they reached Rangenahalli their car involved in a collision with an oncoming car.
The couple and their car driver lost their lives in the mishap. The child survived miraculously.
The impact of the collision was such that the car from Kundapur was reduced into a bundle of metals while the front portion of the other car also damaged completely. Two occupants of the other car suffered injuries.
A case has been registered at jurisdictional Lakkavalli police station.
