Mangalore, September 19: Alva's Education Foundation will organise this year's 'Alva's Nudisiri', a Kannada literary and cultural convention at Moodbidri for three days from November 11, chairman of the foundation M. Mohan Alva said in a release.

This will be the eighth annual convention which will be held at Vidyagiri.

The foundation had been organising the convention for the past seven years without accepting any grant from the government, he said.

Mr. Alva said that the foundation planned on organising pre-convention consultation meetings at select places in the State this year.

Those who wanted to take lead in organising such meetings could contact the foundation office.

He said the intention was to ensure that people from all districts in the State participated in the convention from this year. Mr. Alva said more youth should come forward to promote Kannada in the State by participating in such conventions.

Kannada could be promoted only if younger generation took interest in literary and cultural activities.

He said that the foundation would announce this year's theme of convention, details about literary sessions, guests who will attend, and cultural programmes in a few more days.
