Mangalore, September 20: A 19-year-old engineering student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of her room at Kenjar on the outskirts of the city, under the limits of Bajpe police station.

Anusha, a 1st year BE student in Devi College, Kenjar, took this extreme step on Tuesday at her relatives house, where she was staying since last six weeks.

Her parents Krishnappa Moolya and Yamuna, residents of Moodbidri, said that Anusha had opted to stay there, as their house was far away from the college.

It is assumed that she hanged herself when she was alone at house. Sources said that her relatives left had left for the city in the morning for shopping. The incident came to light, when they returned home in the afternoon.

Police said a prolonged death-note was found in her room, in which she has written so many things about her parents. The death-note concludes with a statement that she herself was responsible for her death.

The body has been shifted to a hospital for post-mortem. Bajpe police are investigating the matter after registering a case.
