Karkala, October 27: In a heart rending tragedy, a 28-year-old woman was stabbed death when she tried to stop a fight between her sister and brother-in-law at Kabettu junction near here on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Shailaja.
It is learnt that one Jyothi and her husband Prabhakar were fighting on Wednesday evening. Prabhakar was holding a knife in his hand.
Looking at their fight Jyothi's sister Shailaja and brother Ravi intervened and tried to stop their fight. However, in a fit of rage Prabhakar stabbed Shailaja. Ravi and Jyothi too sustained stab injuries. Shailaja later succumbed to her injuries.
A case has been registered at local police station and investigations are on.
