Swaroopa to launch education awareness campaign

Mangalore, November 5: As part of Swaroopa Education Awareness Campaign-2011, as many as 100 programmes in 54 centers will be conducted by a team of 30 students and 8 teachers, said Gopadkar, Director of Swaroopa.

Addressing a media conference here on Saturday, Mr Gopadkar said that the inauguration of first show would be held on November 7 at 5:00pm in Town Hall, Mangalore, in the presence of writer KT Gatti creative film actor and director Suchendra Prasad and district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar.

On the same day, at 10:30am 'Text Visualized Picture' art campaign for education for life would be inaugurated at Town Hall in the presence of Dr. Akthaar Hussain, KP Shennoy and other senior artists, he said.

On Children's Day, i.e. on November 14, Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Haggade would be launching the awareness campaign in Dharmasthala, he said.

Mr Gopadkar said, as many as 26 Swaroopa students would be attempting to set a memory record with the Limca Book of Records on December 15 in Bangalore in the presence of CM DV Sadananda Gowda, UR Anantha Murthy, G Venkata Subbiah, MP B Jayashree, and others.

He said, under the slogan, 'give the right of learning to my hands' a state-wide programme would be conducted for the maximum utilisation of human resources.

An Alternative

Mr Gopadkar said the purpose of education awareness campaign is to create awareness in the students and parents to stop the loot of children's capabilities.

Stating that Swaroopa Education is a complete solution and an alternative to the conventional education system, he said that time had come to unveil the overwhelming results of the several researches conducted by Swaroopa Adhyana Kendra.

He also said that a 'Stop Bonsai Education' programme would also be conducted with the aim of bringing education out of the confinement in plate to plain.

Udupi, Dec 1: A horrific case of alleged rape has unfolded in Udupi, where a worker from a Hindutva organisation, previously arrested and released on bail for harassing a young woman, is now accused of waylaying and sexually assaulting her.

The arrested individual has been identified as Pradeep Poojary (26), a member of the Hindu Jagarana Vedike's Nairkode unit in Perdur.

Poojary had allegedly been relentlessly harassing the young woman, pressuring her to marry him. When she bravely stood up to him and refused his demands, she filed a formal complaint at the Hiriyadka police station. He was subsequently arrested in that initial harassment case but was later granted bail.

According to police reports, driven by the same malicious grudge, Poojary allegedly intercepted the woman again on November 29. While she was walking through a deserted area, the accused is claimed to have threatened her by grabbing her neck. When she again refused to marry him, he allegedly proceeded to rape her.

The survivor immediately informed her family about the traumatic assault. Following this, her parents lodged a complaint at the Udupi women’s police station.

Police arrested Poojary again and produced him before the court. He has since been remanded to judicial custody.
