Mangalore, November 12: The Mangalore City Autorickshaw Drivers' Association held a rasta roko near Jyothi Circle on Firday protesting the bad condition of the city roads.

The traffic was disrupted for about five minutes due to the protest. Congress leader and the presiden of the association Ivan D'Souza addressed the protesters and urged the city corporation to repair the road immediately.

The protesters set a three-day deadline to the authorities to repair the Jy\othi Circle- Bunts Hostel stretch and warned of intensified stir if the authorities missed the deadline.

The road is in a bad condition for the last two years and the corporation has showed scant regard to the demands of the motorists and the pedestrians, Mr. D'Souza said.

Hundreds of rickshaw drivers participated in the protest, which ended when the police requested the protesters to back out.
