Mangalore, November 21: The New Mangalore Port Trust on Monday celebrated 109th birthday of late U Srinivasa Mallya.
Dr. P. Tamilvanan, Chairman, NMPT garlanded the statue of late Mallya at the U S Mallya Gate, the main entrance of the Port.
He also recalled the services rendered by Mallya – the visionary of the Port.
This was followed by floral tribute by T.S.N. Murthy, IRS. Dy. Chairman, and HODs of the Port.
As a token of respect, NMPT has named its main entrance in front of N H 66, as 'U S Mallya Gate' in the year 2000.
