Pilikula Nisargadhama impresses foreign tourists

Mangalore, April 8: Twelve groups of foreign tourists visited Pilikula Nisargadhama recently. The groups consisting of more than 250 members from USA, Australia, Canada, Poland, Germany, Mexico had hands on experience of different crafts like pottery making, stone carving, cane works, traditional beaten rice, handloom, carpentry, traditional oil extraction with bullock driven gana, blacksmith works etc.

Besides this they had visit to 'Guthu' House, paddy fields, arecanut gardens etc and had a glimpse of traditional village life of this region.

The tourists appreciated the rich heritage and culture of this region and the efforts of Pilikula Nisarga Dhama to conserve these traditions. They had a wonderful time at Artisans Village and visit to “Gutthu Mane”. They spoke to workers at artisan village with the help of the guides and also had a good interactive session with the officials and staff of Pilikula Nisargadhama.

Mr. J.R.Lobo, Executive Director of Pilikula Nisargadhama along with other officers and officials of Pilikula accompanied the tourists.
