Attack on Dayananda Pai; two more suspects held
Bangalore, November 1: The city police have arrested two more suspects involved in attack on real estate magnate Dayanand Pai in Basavanagudi on October 16.
They are Subhash Shikari, who allegedly opened fire at Mr. Pai's car, and Santosh, a technician in a regional news channel who was regularly in touch with the attackers.
According to police, Subhash along with his associate Vignesh, followed Mr. Pai on two motorcycles from his house in Sahakarnagar and shot at the car near the National College flyover.
A police team which verified the CCTV footage and the call details zeroed in on Vignesh. Interrogation led the police to pick up Subhash and Santosh who reportedly confessed to have executed the attack at the behest of gangster Hebbet Manja as a warning to Mr. Pai over a land dispute.
Both men have been taken into custody for further investigations. “We are trying to get details about the whole operation including the source of money and arms,” a police officer said.
