Mangalore, December 26: Stating that he never justified 'Made-Snana' ritual practiced at Sri Kukke Subrahmanya and few other temples, Pejawar Mutt seer Vishweshwa Theertha Swamji said that he rather advocates 'Yede-Snana'.
Speaking to media persons in the city on Wednesday seer lamented that people are making baseless allegations against him though he had made it clear that there is no benefit for Hindu dharma from 'Made-Snana'.
He said that he strongly backs the modified formula, described as 'Yede-Snana', which allows devotees to roll over food offered to the deity, brought directly from the temple's sanctum sanctorum.
“I don't think that Prasadam offered to deity will be desecrated if devotees performed 'Yede-Snana'. Sacred River Ganga won't be polluted or desecrated if devotees took a bath in it. Similarly Prasadam offered to deity too won't be desecrated if devotees rolled over it,” he said adding that even the state government too had been convinced by his suggestion.
