Confirming this to Coastalidgest.com Air India Express COO Ansbert D'Souza said that flight schedule will be available by next week.
“We are ready to operate between Mangalore and Dammam. We will unveil the finalized flight schedule next week”, said Mr D'Souza
Mangalore International Airport director JT Radha Krishna said that the Air India Express has forwarded the proposal to Airport Authority of India, which is expected to confirm the schedule within few days.
Meanwhile Udupi-Chikmagalur MP K Jayaprakash Hegde 'Coastaldigest.com' that the Union Ministry has shown green signal for the direct flight. Air India Express flight is expected to operate twice in a week between Mangalore and Dammam, he said.
It could be recalled here that Jayaprakash Hegde had recently forwarded a feasibility study for direct flight between Mangalore and Saudi Arabia prepared by Coastaldigest.com, to Minister for Civil Aviation Ajith Singh, urging the latter to 'direct the authorities concerned to operate direct flight between the two destinations'.
