Mangalore, Feb 6: 'IT Vision Mangalore 2020' is being touted as a major harbinger of economic revolution in Mangalore.
Addressing a news conference, after a day-long session in Mangalore, organized by Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry Velankani Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, Bangalore CEO Kiron D Shah said that if the IT Vision Mangalore 2020 is implemented then 50,000 jobs and a revenue of 20,000 crore will be generated.
Mr. Shah and T V Mohandas Pai, Chairman, KICTG, gave a presentation on the 'Road Map to Undisputed Global Leadership in Information and Communication Technology by 2020' in the presence of industry representatives of Mangalore, brought together by the KCCI.
Mr. Shah said that following the presentation, a team has been formed in Mangalore which will prepare a similar report on implementing the 'IT Vision Mangalore 2020', as per which, 50,000 jobs will be created as against the current number of 10,000.
The revenue post-implementation of this project will shoot up to Rs. 20,000 crores as against 1,800-2,000 crore at present and 100 new business establishments will be started in the city, he said.
The team will submit a report in this regard to the Government of Karnataka within 30 days, he said.
