Mangalore/Udupi, Feb 9: The of Sunni Students Federation (SSF) on Saturday organized two spate rallies and conventions in Mangalore and Udupi to mark the valedictory of 'Pravadi Sandesha Jatha'.
In Mangalore, hundreds of youth took part in rally which commenced at Jyothi Circle. The rally passed through Hampankatta and culminated at Nehru Maidan, where Sunni scholars addressed the gathering.
Delivering the keynote address, Sunni cleric MSM Abdur-Rasheed Zaini Kamil Saqafi, laid emphasis on the importance of the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal in Islamci calendar and explained the necessity of celebrating the birth day of Prophet Muhammad.
In Udupi the rally commenced from Kinnimulki, and pass through Taluk Office Road, Diana Circle, K.M. Road, and Service Bus Stand, before culminating at the Chittaranjan Circle, where the convention was held. K.M. Abubakkar Siddik, leader of the national unit of SSF, inaugurated the convention.
Abdurrahman Rizvi, leader of State unit of the SSF, presided over the convention.
