Mangalore, Mar 8: Students of Centre for Advanced Learning (CFAL) Kuntikan, Mangalore have performed exceptionally well in the state-level National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), bring laurels to the institution by bagging first and third place. Pulkit Sareen (Delhi Public School) and Adarsh Somayaji (Canara Highschool Urwa) have bagged the first and third place respectively. A total of nine students prepared by CFAL have qualified in this prestigious examination.
This year 50,711 students appeared for the NTSE Exam from Karnataka, held on 18th November 2012. Department of State Education and Research Training (DSERT) selected 223 students among them, of which 13 were from Mangalore. Out of the 13 students, 9 students were trained at Centre for advanced learning, Kuntikan, Mangalore making a huge contribution of nearly 70%.
“Securing the first and third ranks by our students is a landmark achievement and debunks a prevailing myth that qualifying in highly competitive professional examinations is not possible for kids from smaller cities like Mangalore,” said a release from the Institution.
The other qualifying students are Bharath Rao K N from Sharada Vidyala (Rank 20), K Gaurish Prabhu from Canara Urva (Rank 20), Joslin A D'Cunha from St Anns Kuntikan (Rank 21), Poorvi from Canara Urva (Rank 26), Vishesh Goel from St Theresa' Rank 26, Pradeep Pai B from Canara Urwa (rank 27) and Ramith Gowda from MGC Bondel (Rank 27)
These selected students are eligible to write the second stage of the exam at National Level which will be conducted by NCERT on 12th May 2013.
