Mangalore, May 8: They say, winning is not important, all that matters is participation. However, when it comes to politics, this line of consolation holds no value because here winning is all that matters. While winners see themselves mobbed by frantic followers, the losers see themselves doomed in pensiveness, pondering over just one question, 'What went wrong?'
Here are some words from the two prominent losers from BJP in Mangalore after the verdict of the electorate.
N Yogish Bhat (lost to J R Lobo in Mangalore South)
“Winning and losing is part and parcel of a politician's life. I bow down to the verdict of the people. I am grateful to the people for giving me the opportunity to serve as their representative for four terms. In this period, many projects for the development of the region were conceptualized and worked up on. Most of them have seen great progress and will be implemented soon”
Krishna J Palemar (lost to Moindeen Bava in Mangalore North)
“I did work for my constituency as an MLA but the 'CD episode' does seem to have had an impact on this election. In any case, I welcome the mandate of the people. I would not like to contest any more elections in the future”
