ABVP holds massive protest rally against technical problems in CET counseling

July 31, 2013
Mangalore, Jul 31: Hundreds of students under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Pairshad on Wednesday staged a demonstration in the city protest against the technical problems in Common Entrance Examination (CET) counseling.

Waving saffron flags, the students took out a protest rally against the government from Hampankatta and converged in front of the office of deputy commissioner.

They were raising slogans urging the government to immediately solve the glitches in the CET counselling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Speaking on the occasion, K Ramesh, state secretary of ABVP alleged that because of the technical problems in online counselling, thousands of students could not fetch the engineering seats.

He criticised that counselling for diploma holders, who are seeking lateral entry admissions to engineering courses is not yet completed. "The delay in the completion of counselling is due to technical problems on KEA's website," he alleged.

Ramesh opposed the government's plan of banning students' union elections in the colleges.
