
Mangalore, Sep 16: 'Viveka Samsmarana', a series of programme organised by Ramakrishna Mission was inaugurated by Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister H.K. Patil, on Monday at Swami Vivekananda auditorium, Ramakrishna Mutt, Mangalore.
Delivering inaugural address H.K. Patil said that Swami Vivekananda during his lifetime, spoke of various issues pertaining to youth and after his death several of his words became true.
"One great quality of Swami Vivekananda is that he never asked anybody to follow him," said Mr Patil adding that Swami Vivekananda feared that one day the people would lose the bond with nation, which is unfortunately becoming true.
Referring to brain-drain, he said that the trend of more and more talented youth aspiring to settle abroad is dangerous. "Human resource in real sense is the asset of our country. Youth must think of utilising their talent for the good of their own nation," he said.
Swami Jitakamanandaji, President, Ramakrishna Math, Swami Veereshananda Saraswathi, President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama, Tumkur were present during the formal function. Director of Human Networking Academy, Bangalore, Prof K Raghottam Rao and General Manager, CSR department, MRPL, Sushilchandra M were the resource persons for Viveka Chaitanya, personality development camp for postgraduate students.
