Parole-jumper convict arrested in Kerala

Bantwal, Oct 11: Melkar-Rangelu resident Isubu alias Yusuf Musliyar, who had jumped parole from the jail has been arrested in Kerala by Bantwal police.

Based on a tip-off, Bantwal police had gone to Malappuram and nabbed him with the help of Kerala police.

He was sentenced to a life term in prison for murdering his second wife Mariamma in 2005 and then throwing her undressed dead body to Phalguni river in Gurpura.

Mangalore Sessions Court had held him guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Accordingly he was serving jail at Belgavi and was out on 45 days parole citing his mother's ill-health as a reason from July 20, 2013.

He was supposed to return to jail on September 4 but had managed to escape.
