Bengaluru, Aug 20: There are 6 BJP MLAs who became Ministers for the first time in the Karnataka Cabinet which was expanded by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa here on Tuesday.
All the 17 New Ministers inducted were given Cabinet rank and the portfolios are likely to be announced by evening, official sources told media.
The first time Ministers include Lakshman Sangappa Savadi, J C Madhu Swamy, Chandrakantagouda Channappagouda Patil, Prabhu Chavan, Ms Jolle Shashikala Anna Saheb and Dr C N Ashwat Narayana.
While Jagadish Shettar had served as Chief Minister of the State, R Ashok and K S Eshwarappa were Deputy Chief Ministers in the previous BJP government. There are as many as 6 former Ministers who made re-entry in to the Cabinet and they included Govind M Karjol, S Suresh Kumar, V Somanna, C T Ravi, Basavaraj Bommai and B Sriramulu, close aid of Mining baron and former Minister Gali Janardhana Reddy.
