Mysuru, Sept 18: Swaraj India national president Yogendra Yadav on Monday said the JD(S) and Congress coalition government in Karnataka offered no hope to farmers and the youth and there was a need for an alternative.
“On the one hand, there is BJP that represents communalism and on the other, there is the coalition of Congress and JD(S) that is opportunistic. I think there is a need to find an alternative to these forces,” he told reporters, ahead of the State convention of Swaraj India here.
Mr. Yadav said that Swaraj India was emerging as an alternative in the State and also in national politics. “Today’s convention in Mysuru will be a stepping stone for the party.”
On the upcoming elections being projected as a fight between Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Yadav said: “It will be a tragedy if the country has to choose between them. We don’t have to choose, but look for an alternative.”
