Bengaluru, Sept 12: A six member Central team, which arrived here in the morning, immediately left for visit of flood ravaged places in Karnataka to make on the spot study of the damages caused due to recent flood in Kodagu, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.
The team was dividied into to two of three each and one team led by Union Home Ministry Joint Secretary Anil Malik left for Kodagu, where the devastation had rendered hundreds of people roof less due to frequent landslides during the rain, besides causing heavy damage to crops including Coffee and Paddy. Still hundreds of people are staying in Rehabilitation Centres set up by the State government.
Central Water Commission Superintendent Engineer Jitendrapallvar and Union Agriculture Departmetn Joint Director Dr Palluswamy are the other members of the team.
Another team led by Union Finance Ministry Assistant Secretary Bharatendrakumar Singh left for visit of affected places in Udupi, Mangaluru, Uttara Kannada and Hassan Districts.
