
Mangalore, December 27: Highland Islamic Forum (HIF) Medical Cell organised a free medical check-up camp for orphans and destitute children and women at Al-Kalam in Falnir, Mangalore recently.
Honorary president of Simra Health Foundation Dr Mohammed Ismail spoke on the significance given to orphans and destitute children in Islam. President of the foundation Dr Abdul Majeed, speaking on the occasion, pledged his whole-hearted support to HIF's future endeavours.
Convenor of HIF medical cell Kamaruddin introduced and felicitated the doctors, and said that the children were the special guests on the occasion.
HIF president Mohammed Rizwan said that the health of destitute children was the most pressing and worrying problem in orphanages. This was the reason for having conducted a medical camp for them. It is difficult to run an orphanage or bringing up several orphans in one. But if it wishes, it is possible for one family to look after the complete upbringing of a single orphan, he opined.
Children and women who participated in the camp were given free treatment and medicines.
The founder of an orphanage looking after 45 orphans, Hameed was felicitated during the programme.
Moulana Mohammed Tahir recited the dua, while Nazim S S compered the programme.
