Mangaluru, Oct 15: Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday formally launched Brand Mangaluru campaign and a grama vastavya (village camp) programme mooted by the Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists Union.
Speaking at the launching event that held at T M A Pai International Convention Centre in the city, Mr Kumaraswamy said that Brand Mangaluru campaign was something unique taken up by a body of journalists in the State.
He said that the government would extend cooperation to the campaign by supporting the programmes aimed at uniting society and highlighting the positive aspects in the coastal belt.
Srinivas Nayak Indaje, president of the union, said that the campaign would project the true abilities and positive aspects of Mangaluru.
U.T. Khader, Minister in-charge of Dakshina Kannada, Ivan D’Souza, K. Harish Kumar, S.L. Bhoje Gowda, MLCs, D. Vedavyasa Kamath, Mangaluru City South MLA, and others were present.
