Hassan, Sept 18: Former minister HD Revanna on Tuesday said, quite sarcastically, that he’s all right with former chief minister and Congress Legislature Party leader Siddaramaiah becoming the chief minister again.
He, however, said the party was working towards making former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy regain the post and ensure that he completes a five-year term.
Revanna played down the political significance of Siddaramaiah’s meeting with his relative and former vicechancellor of Karnataka State Open University KS Rangappa.
“He went to Rangappa’s house for breakfast,” he said. When reporters pointed out that Rangappa, a JD(S) member, has said he’d be happy if Siddaramaiah becomes the CM again, Revanna said he had no objection to that.
He said he visits Siddaramaiah for breakfast and the Congress leader visits him too. “Does that mean Siddaramaiah will join the JD(S)?” he asked.
Revanna denied allegations that party supremo HD Deve Gowda targeted Congress leader DK Shivakumar in the money laundering case. He accused BJP of inflating the cost of elevated corridor project by six times. “During my tenure, the elevated corridor project was estimated to cost ?5,500 crore. The BJP inflated it to ?30,000 crore.”
He said he had asked the CM to waive farm loans.
Let Siddaramaiah become CM again; I have no problem: H D Revanna
