Mangalore, Feb 3: Do not get lost in selfish desires and material benefits. Honesty and complete submission to the cause of the motherland is the only way to make India a force to reckon with in the next 10-20 years, said Mohan Bhagawat, Sarasanghachalak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Addressing thousands of RSS volunteers gathered at Kenjar as part of the Sangh's Mangalore division 'Saanghik' on Sunday, Mr. Bhagawat said that the programme is not a 'show of strength' event but a time of introspection.
“This year is the 150th birth anniversary year of Swami Vivekananda. The vision of Swamiji and the Sangh's idea of India are the same. Swamiji had said that the Hindu society need not dread challenges and advised them to take them on. Strong youth force was always his demand. Swamiji wanted to build a school where service to the nation would be taught. What the Sangh does today is in line with his vision”, Mr. Bhagawat said.
The RSS chief reiterated that there is a need to build a strong 'Hindu Rashtra' wherein there would be no opposition to any group and service to all strata of society would be provided with honest intentions.
Mr. Bhagawat advised fellow RSS activists to always put country before God and reminded them that it is precisely what they say in their prayers.
Suresh Joshi, Sarakaryavaaha of the Sangh, Venkataramu Mysore, Sanghachaalak, Karnataka South, Dr. Vaman Shenoy, Sanghachaalak, Mangalore Division, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, K Sooryanarayana Rao, N Krishnappa were among the RSS leaders present on the dais.
D V Sadananda Gowda, Former Chief Minister, C T Ravi, District in charge minister, DK, N Yogish Bhat, Deputy Speaker, Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, also participated in the programme.
