Mangaluru, Oct 14: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today inaugurated MLC B M Farookh’s new office located inside the compound of Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangaluru.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM hoped that the legislator’s office would serve as a “solution centre” for the problems of the people.
Minister for Urban Development, Housing and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge U T Khader, Congress MLCs Ivan D’Souza, Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner T R Suresh, former MLAs B A Mohiuddin Bava and J R Lobo were present.
On the same occasion, Mr Farookh donated the money that he received so far as salary and allowance after being elected as MLC among the poor patients.
The CM handed over the amount to 38 poor people who are suffering from cancer, and heart and kidney related ailments. The MLC had earlier pledged to donate all the money that he gets as salary among poor patients.
Mr Farookh, who is also the chief general secretary of the Janata Dal (Secular), was elected to the Karnataka Legislative Council in June this year.
