Chennai Super Kings ended their Champions League Twenty20 campaign on a high as they clinched comfortable four-wicket victory over Yorkshire at Kingsmead in Durban on Monday.

Subramaniam Badrinath (47 off 45 balls) and MS Dhoni (31 off 23 balls) helped Chennai achieved the 141-run target in 19 overs. Chennai finished at third place in their group with eight points.

Both Chennai and fellow IPL side Mumbai Indians have crashed out of the tournament after Sydney Sixers and Highveld Lions qualified for the semifinals from Group B.

Even before the first ball was bowled in Saturday’s IPL derby between Chennai and Mumbai, the match was rendered a dead-rubber after Lions notched up a five-wicket victory over Yorkshire earlier in the day to become the second team from Group B to reach the semifinals.

Raina tried to revive Chennai chase as he added 48-run third wicket partnership with Subramaniam Badrinath after losing Faf du Plessis and Murali Vijay in quick succession.

Oliver Hannon-Dalby ended the crucial stand by removing Raina to give Yorkshire vital breakthrough.

Yorkshire pacer Steven Patterson struck to give Chennai Super Kings early jolt as he dismissed du Plessis. Earlier, Gary Ballance smashed five sixes in his 58 runs knock to steer Yorkshire to a challenging 140/6.
