Chennai, Jun 2: Embattled BCCI chief N Srinivasan is to step down from his post till investigation into IPL spot-fixing scandal is over, said sources.

Former BCCI chief and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) head Jagmohan Dalmiya is likely to be named interim President. His name was proposed by BJP leader and Delhi and Districts Cricket Association president Arun Jaitley.

The Indian cricket board's working committee meeting was convened on Sunday in Chennai to decide the fate of Srinivasan, who has been reeling under the controversy, following the arrest of his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan in betting-scandal.

The meeting was called after the Board of Control for Cricket in India's secretary Sanjay Jagdale and treasurer Ajay Shirke quit Friday on moral grounds in the wake of the IPL betting scandal.

The IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla also resigned on Saturday.
