Kochi, Jun 19: For all its travails, troubled times have one good thing about them. They help you realise the strength of your relations and recognise the people who’d stand by you through thick and thin.

Sreesanth who spent nearly a month in the infamous Tihar jail after being booked on spot-fixing charges in the Indian Premier League will vouch for it.

The most important thing, apart from the prayers of his parents, that perhaps helped the cricketer to keep his spirits up during the stressful days was the support extended by a young Jaipur-based woman. When he stood disgraced before the entire world, she proved to be his pillar of support.

Sources said the cricketer would tie the knot with the woman from a well-off royal family in October this year. The name of the young woman, a graduate in her early 20s, has not yet been revealed.

She reportedly called Sreesanth during his confinement and was in touch with his legal team to keep track of the progress of the case. Her family is also learned to be supportive. Her father had reportedly met the cricketer at Tihar jail.

Sources said she first met Sreesanth when he was in Jaipur to play for India in 2006. She met the cricketer to collect his autograph.

The two have been in touch ever since Sreesanth’s release on bail earlier this month, sources said.
