Magnaluru, Jul 6: Mangaluru City South MLA Vedavyas Kamath is of the opinion that there are no schemes for the coastal district of Dakshina Kannada in the Karnataka budget 2018-19.
Speaking to coasaldigest.com, the BJP leader said that not much financial aid came towards Dakshina Kannada out of the budget read out by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
“It was disappointing and injustice to our people. We had repeatedly requested the state government for special funds for the rain-damaged regions since our roads and infrastructure were badly hit. But there is no allocation whatsoever in the budget. We condemn this treatment in strong words,” he said.
Asked whether any report or proposal was presented to the CM over the flood relief, he said: “After the recent floods, I had made a report and submitted it to the office of Deputy Commissioner as well as to the Revenue Minister of Karnataka, R V Deshpande.”
