Mangaluru, Jun 18: T R Suresh, who was transferred to Bengaluru to months ago, today returned to take charge as the Mangaluru Police Commissioner once again.
It was on June 12, 2017 that Mr. Suresh took charge as the Police Commissioner replacing M Chandra Sekhar.
Following directions by the Election Commission, the State Government transferred Mr. Suresh to the Fire and Emergency Services Department in Bengaluru and posted in his place Vipul Kumar, who was the Director of Karnataka Police Academy (KPA).
A few days ago, the government transferred Mr. Suresh to Mangaluru while sending Mr. Kumar back as the Director of KPA.
Mr. Suresh, an MBA graduate from University of Mysore, was inducted into IPS in 2003 after serving in various positions in the police since 1991.
Outgoing top cop Vipul Kumar told media persons that during his two month stint, he realized that Mangalureans are peace lovers.
“Only a handful of anti-social elements are trying to harm the image of Mangaluru. The police is capable of controlling such miscreants,” he said.
