Bengaluru, Feb 4: The Karnataka Media Academy on Friday announced its annual awards for 15 journalists for 2016.

The other awardees are: H R Sreesha (Bengaluru); Shantala Dharmaraj, Samyuktha Karnataka (Mysuru); G Veeranna, Vijayavani (Ballari); Cheeni Purushotham, Udayavani (Tumkur); A C Prabhakr, Mysure Mitra (Chamarajanagar); Ujjini Rudrappa, Kannada Prabha (Koppal); 10.Ramaswamy – Ee Sanje (Ramanagar); Shankerappa Husanappa Chalavadi, Hucha Patrike (Bagalkote); Nagaraja Sunagara, Udaya TV (Dharwad); Anil Kumar Hosamani, Bahujananayaka (Vijayapura); Malathesha Angoora, Kaurava Patrike (Haveri)
Other Awards — Rs. 20,000 in cash and plaque — will be conferred on the winners at a function attended by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other guests, said M Siddaraju, chairman of the Academy in a media release.
Shivamogga Times of Shivamogga has bagged 'Andolana Award' given to the best district level newspaper.
'Abhimani Award' for the best writing on 'social issues', goes to Chandrashekar More from Udayavani. C G Rajiv from Vijaya Karnataka has baggedMysuru Diganta Award' for his write up on humanitarian issues.
'Aragini' Award will be presented to Snehapriya Nagaraj for best cinematic journalism. Dr Nataraj Huliar has bagged Dr B R Ambedkar Mookanayaka award exceptional writing focusing on downtrodden-community.
These awards carry a cash prize of Rs 10,000, citation and a memento.
