Senior IAS officer Vijay Bhaskar appointed chief secretary of Karnataka

Bengaluru, Jun 30: H D Kumaraswamy led JD(S)-Congress coalition government of Karnataka today appointed senior IAS officer T M Vijay Bhaskar as the new chief secretary.

A native of Bengaluru, Vijay Bhaskar is a 1983-batch IAS officer and will have a two-year tenure before he attains superannuation.

Vijay Bhaskar will succeed K Ratna Prabha, who completed her three-month extension on June 30.

The state government had earlier written to the Centre seeking an extension of the term for three more months for Ratna Prabha.

However, the state government later withdrew the letter and decided to appoint Vijay Bhaskar.
