Mangaluru, May 20: Dakshina Kannada district (rural) will soon get a new superintendent of police as SD Sharanappa was on Friday transferred to the state capital.

Official sources said that senior officer Bhushan Gulabrao Borase will soon take charge as the new SP of the coastal district.
Mr. Borase, a 2009-batch IPS officer from Maharashtra, had been working in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Bengaluru since January this year. Earlier he served as the SP of Mandya for almost two years.
It is learnt that Mr Sharanappa has been posted as deputy commissioner of police, Bengaluru city (south division). He has completed two years in Dakshina Kannada.
Meanwhile, Amrit Paul, who the Inspector General of Police of Western Range (Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada and Chikmagalur districts) has also been transferred and posted as the IGP in Bengaluru (internal security).
J Arun Chakravarthy, who was serving as the Inspector General of Police in Central Range which includes Bengaluru and other districts, is transferred with immediate effect and posted as the IGP of Western Range. More details are awaited.
