Bangaluru, May 11: Students Islamic Organization of India, Karnataka zone, organized a symposium and book releasing ceremony at Bangluru Press Club recently.
Dr Banjagere Jayprakash, President of Kannada Pustaka Pradhikara, Bangluru, released the book ‘Basava Tatva Mattu Islam’ (Basava Philosophy and Islam).
Speaking on the occasion he said, instead of pointing out mistakes in other religions, one should celebrate similarities between religions as it would help promote brotherhood in society.
Introducing the book, Tauseef Ahmed Madekeri, Campus Secretary, SIO, said that in India the main reason for differences and hatred among people is lack of knowledge on each other’s religion. He said that comparative study of religion would really help clear the misconceptions.
Sri Shivarudra Swamiji, Beli Mutt, Bengaluru, appreciated the initiative from Students’ Islamic organization. He said such kind of efforts by youths would help build a strong and peaceful society with moral values.
Akbar Ali, President, WPI, Karnataka, Jagad Guru Basav Kumar Swamiji, Harish Harsoor, writer, and Labeed Shafi, President, SIO, Karnataka, were present on the occasion.
