Sri Krishna Temple celebrates Deepavali with traditional fervour

Udupi, October 26: Deepavali was celebrated in Sri Krishna Temple Udupi in a traditional way, on Wednesday, the Naraka Chathurdashi day.

After the Paschima Jaagara pooja in the wee hours of Wednesday, Paryaya Shiroor Mutt pontiff Sri Laxmivara Theertha Swamiji offered Tailabhisheka to the idol of lord Krishna. The same oil was later served to the devotees.

Shiroor Swamiji, Sode Mutt pontiff Sri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji and Kaniyoor Mutt pontiff Sri Vidyavallabha Theertha Swamiji applied oil to each other and had the sacred bath.

Shiroor Swamiji also burted crackers in the mutt premises and shared the joy among the devotees.
