New Delhi, May 19: Usually, dogs are called a man's best friend. But, the age old cliché doesn't apply in all conditions. That's what exactly happened in Bengaluru marathon, when an Ethiopian runner, Mule Wasihun, who was running in the World 10K marathon was at the receiving end.

It was certainly not his day, as first Wasihun, who was leading the race, took a wrong turn to forego his lead. And by the time he got back on the right track he had to deal with a stray dog.

As per the media reports, the dog first started chasing Wasihun and at one point came in between the runner's legs, leaving him with no option but to jump over the animal. Because there was no stopping Wasihun, the dog made an attempt to attack him before he could retreat.

Unfortunately, due to all the fiasco, the Ethiopian finished ninth in the race.
