Bantwal, Aug 28: Unable to face the harassment caused to them by the vice-principal and lecturer of the polytechnic college here in Bantwal, students of the college boycotted classes and staged a demonstration in the college premises on Wednesday.
Students studying in the college held a flash protest under the banner of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) after boycotting their classes, demanding the suspension of vice principal Dr Chinnagiri Gowda and lecturer Tejaswini.
The students claimed that both the lecturer and the vice principal used to unnecessarily harass the students and condemn their actions. They alleged that the two would trouble the students which affected their teaching and their studies.
The protestors claimed that the two in question would forego taking regular classes because of internal rivalry between the teachers in the college. When the students would enquire about it, they would be criticised and insulted for no valid reason.
Unable to tolerate the behaviour of the lecturer and vice-principal, the students demanded the suspension of the two. Parents of some of the students have also supported them in their protest.
