The deceased are Midlaj (53) from Thiruvananthapuram, his wife, Sajida (38) from Povval Mastikundu, Kasargod, and their son, Fahad (13). Midlaj was working as a tailor in Chengala.

The door of their home was not opened till noon. Growing suspicious, the neighbours peeped through the window and witnessed dead bodies.
