Bangalore, Jun 6: ADGP Dr P Ravindranath, accused of clicking pictures of two women at a coffee shop on Cunningham Road, is making every possible effort to get his transfer order revoked and get a posting in Bangalore.
During the meeting, he requested the DG&IGP to ensure him a posting in Bangalore, instead of Dharwad, as his daughter is studying in Bangalore.
However, he failed to get any positive assurance, said sources.
He went to the office of the State police chief on Nrupatunga Road, along with his wife Sridevi in the morning.
“The DG&IGP has assured me that he will forward my request to the State government. I will discharge my duties in any location in Bangalore,” he said after the meeting with Pachau.
“I tendered resignation as I did not want to affect the probe by CID. I wrote a letter expressing willingness to withdraw the resignation, after the intervention of my relatives and well-wishers,” he said.
“My wife suggested me to continue the battle being a police officer,” the officer said.
Pachau told Deccan?Herald, “I have forwarded Ravindranath 's letter to the principal secretary for further action.”
“I suggested him to approach the government with a request to settle the matter, as reinstating an officer or posting him at a particular location is not in my hands,” Pachau said.
Ravindranath went to the CID office later to appear before the investigating officer.
“I co-operated with the CID officers and gave whatever information they sought during inquiry,” he told reporters.
“I provided them information regarding both the cases (lodged at the Cubbon Park and High Grounds police stations). I will continue to cooperate with them till the investigation is completed,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bangalore City Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar also went to the CID office and appeared before the investigating officer to recorded his statement.
