After successful landing of Abu Dhabi-Mangaluru flight, pilot suffers cardiac arrest, dies

Mangaluru, Jun 24: A 60-year-old Air India Express pilot from Gurgaon, Haryana breathed his last at a private hospital in Managluru after a cardiac arrest.

Capt D S Jain (60) was one of the main pilots of Air India Express’ Mangaluru-Abu Dhabi flight.

After successfully executing the landing of flight on Monday at Mangaluru International Airport, Capt Jain went to Gate Way Hotel, in the city where AIE had made arrangement for his stay.

After spending sometime in hotel, the pilot went for a walk. While walking near Nehru Maidan he reportedly experienced severe chest pain.

He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in the city. Doctors confirmed that it was a case of cardiac arrest. He breathed his last after a few hours in the same hospital without responding to any treatment.

AIE authorities repatriated his mortal remains to his hometown in Haryana on Tuesday by a special flight. His family members also had come to the city to take home the body.
