Udupi, Feb 16: After a violent protest in Brahmavar, a group of miscreants, suspected to be Bajrang Dal extremists, on Saturday evening barged into the office of Udupi district in-charge minister located at Hiriadka on the outskirts of the city and created ruckus.

Local sources said that the attack was the continued part of the violent protest staged by Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad at Brahmavar against the arrest of an accused in a robbery case. The miscreants had vandalized two shops and pelted stones at a police vehicle during the protest.
According to sources, a group of miscreants barged into the office of Mr Sorake at Hiriadka. They shouted slogans against Mr Sorake and vandalized the office.
Reacting to the incident, Mr Sorake said that anti-social elements have been carrying out such coward attacks to create trouble in the society.
A case was filed against the miscreants at jurisdictional police station by congress worker Prashant Kumar, said to be a witness.
