It is wrong to tell as conversion. Actually he has returned to his Original ancient Hinduism which is Islam. Rigveda says They are ateists and of weak intellect and continually remain sunk in dephths of misery and pain who do not believe in and know and commune with Him who is Resplendent, All Glorious , All Holy. All knowledge, sustainer of the sun and planets...... It is by the knowledge and contemplation of God alone that all men attain true happiness. Rigveda 1, 164 ,39

He had accepted the truth from Vedas and reverted to the true religion. Islam is not new religion . It is the same True Sanathan Dharma
