Arbitrary arrests of Muslim youth will weaken the country, warn organisations

February 9, 2016

New Delhi, Feb 9: Some of the most prominent Muslim social and religious organisations of India expressed their deep concern at the nationwide arrests of Muslim youths and clerics on suspicion of having links with ISIS. The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Jamiat-Ulema-i-Hind, Markaz Jamiat Ahle Hadees, All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat and the All India Milli Council organized a joint press conference today at the Press Club of India to voice their strong displeasure at the policy of the government and the prejudiced role of the security agencies.

Muhammad Salim Engineer, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) said that: ‘’these arbitrary arrests of Muslim youth in the name of ISIS is an organized conspiracy to malign Islam and Muslims, create suspicion about their patriotism, terrorise them and to get political benefits by creating hatred between Hindus and Muslims.

Although the Home Minister and the Prime Minister refuted the possibility of ISIS making inroads in India last year, the security agencies have recently began arresting Muslims across the country on suspicion of allegedly having links with ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

Salim Engineer demanded that the police officers who detain innocent youth deliberately must be awarded stringent punishment if these youth are acquitted later. The youth must be released within 6 months if the agencies are unable to prove any allegations against them’’.

The Secretary General of JIH voiced his apprehension regarding the central government considering lifting MCOCA from the cases of Hindutva terror accused looking for possible ways to release the accused in Hindutva terror incidents. He accused the government and security agencies of trying to create a climate of fear and anxiety within the Muslim community which will weaken the country.

Muslim Organisations Demands to the Central Government:

1.The chain of arresting innocent Muslims mere on suspicion should be immediately stopped. Cases should be withdrawn from those against whom no substantial proof was found and they should be immediately released.

2.Those against whom terror charges could not be proved and have consequently been acquitted by the courts should be awarded ample compensation and stringent action should be taken against the police officers who had implicated them.

3.Draconian laws (UAPA, MCOCA, etc.) enacted to counter so-called terrorism should be annulled immediately because they run contrary to basic human rights and are used by police and intelligence agencies as a weapon against innocent people. It has already been proved that charges against most of the people prosecuted under these laws were not proved. Its living example is TADA whose rate of conviction was just one percent. In the year 2014, only 18 out of 141 people apprehended under UAPA could be charge-sheeted while 123 people were found innocent – it means charges could be proved only against 12% of the accused. It is most possible that these people will also be acquitted by higher courts.

4.A new law should be formulated in the country to ensure ample compensation to the persons acquitted of terror charges and to prosecute under terror charges the officers of police and intelligence agencies who falsely implicated them so that the lives of innocent people could be saved.

5.A core group should be formed comprising human rights organisations working in terror cases, civil society groups and community organisations. Every such case should be referred to the panel. This core group would work as a watchdog. Only this will help establish mutual harmony, contact and cooperation between police and public and will shut the door of misunderstandings.

6.A high-level probe should be conducted to fully expose the Hindutva terror network uncovered by slain ATS chief Hemant Karkare and also the cases brought to light by admission and revelations of Swami Aseemanand.

7.Hindutva terror accused should not be released on bail by weakening their cases; rather their cases should be fast-tracked in order to ensure judgment.

It is surprised to read in the newspaper that one of the accused muslim boy has a photographs of Mr. Narendra Modi in his laptop.
What does it mean?? A muslim cannot keep prime ministers photo in his laptop??? Is Mr. Narendra Modi is our prime minister or Pakistani Prime Minister?
it is really strange. some places if the police find any Arabic books (quran or hadis ) they have no knowledge what it is and they are thinking that it is terrorists book and they are advertised by the so called SPM (Sangha Pariwar ) media.
Time to unite all the muslims and fight against these RSS terror outfits.

raghunandankamat.jpg

Naturals Ice Cream founder Raghunandan Kamath passed away following a brief illness. Born to a mango vendor in a village in Mangaluru, Kamath went on to establish Naturals, an ice cream parlour estimated to be worth Rs 400 crore today.

"Our thoughts on the sad demise of our patron and founder of Naturals Ice Cream, Late Raghunandan Kamath. Indeed a very sad and unfortunate day for us," the company said.

Mr Kamath grew up helping his father in selling mangoes in a village Karnataka's Mangaluru. This was when he learned the art of picking the ripe fruit, plucking it, sorting it, and preserving it.

As the legend goes, a young 14-year-old Kamath boarded a train from Mangaluru and came to Mumbai (then Bombay).

After working at his brother’s restaurant, Kamath had an idea — if ice creams have fruit flavours, why can’t they have real fruits. He decided to fill this void in the market. But unsure of whether customers would come, he began his business with serving pav-bhaji as the main dish and the ice cream as an add on.

His first ice cream parlour was launched in 1984 in Juhu, with the initial menu featuring around 12 flavours, each being a testament to the knowledge he acquired during the time he assisted his father in Mangaluru.

The demand kept growing and he opened five more outlets in 1994. Currently, it has over 165 outlets across 15 cities.

His story was captured expansively in ‘Intelligent Fanatics of India’, a book co-authored by Mumbai-based journalist Pooja Bhula.

Inspired by his mother's techniques, Kamath also developed innovative machines to streamline production and ensure consistency, notes the company website.

revanna..jpg

Bengaluru, May 14: JD(S) leader HD Revanna has been released from Parappana Agrahara Jail today, on May 14 after he was granted conditional bail.

He was granted a conditional bail yesterday by a Bengaluru court in connection with a kidnapping case linked to sexual abuse allegation against him and his son Prajwal.

Revanna was arrested on May 4 by Special Investigative Team (SIT) officials in a kidnapping case registered against him at KR Nagar police station in the city. The case is linked to his son and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna’s mega sex scam.

Representing the JD(S) MLA from Holenarsipura, he termed this case a "political conspiracy" against him.

A SIT, constituted by the Karnataka government, is probing the alleged sexual abuse against against HD Revanna and his son Prajwal Revanna.

Prajwal Revanna, the incumbent MP, is seeking another term from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency. The voting for the seat took place on April 26.

Earlier, JD (S) chief HD Kumaraswamy alleged that Karnataka government does not want a fair inquiry.

"They are misusing the office. Nothing is going to happen ultimately. They wanted character assassination of HD Revanna and for that reason, they are using their office," Kumaraswamy told ANI.

Meeting Karnataka Governor Tawara Chanda Gehlot on May 9, a delegation of the Janata Dal (Secular) submitted a memorandum and urged Gehlot to recommend a CBI probe.

Prajwal sill absconding

The JD(S) MP, Prajwal, fled to Germany after Karnataka State Commission for Women Nagalakshmi Chowdhary wrote to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah seeking an investigation into over obscene videos of Prajwal Revanna allegedly sexually abusing several women. He has also skipped summons issued by the SIT to appear before it.

The ‘obscene videos’ involving Prajwal Revanna started making the rounds ahead of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka on April 26, triggering a political slugfest.

A lookout notice against Prajwal Revanna has been issued at all airports in India, along with a Blue Corner notice. A Blue Corner notice issued by Interpol helps countries collect and share information regarding a person's location and their activities as part of a criminal investigation.
