Jubail, May 29: As a formal step towards the formation of international alumni network for the development of Badria Schools, Mangalore, a subcommittee of alumni has been officially formed in Eastern province of Saudi Arabia.
The Jubail subcommittee was came into existence at a meeting of Badria alumni held on Wednesday in the city of Jubail under the guidance of Asif Amaco, who is also an alumnus of the institution. Around two dozens of members belonging to various batches passed-out from Badria between 1982 and 2006 took part in the meeting.
Imran Hasan Bunder has been unanimously elected president of Jubail subcommittee. Iqbal Kudroli and Ifthikhar Ahmed Deralakatte have been chosen as secretary and treasurer respectively. All three belonged to 1995-96 pass-out batch of the institution.
Asif Amaco, who was chosen as the advisor of the committee, explained the present condition of Badria School based on the reports and photos published on Coastaldigest.com. The attendees expressed shock about the management apathy towards the historic institution. They said that it was a tragedy that the school was in a miserable condition for a long time despite the presence of high profile personalities in its management committee.
Imran, the newly elected president of Jubail subcommittee said that there was a need to invite more people to join Badria alumni network for the cause of the development of their alma mater.
Alumni from Dammam who were present in the meeting said that they would unite Badrians in their region and form a subcommittee in Dammam/Khobar within a few days. The subcommittees in other prominent cities of Middle East also expected to be formed in coming days.
