Mangaluru, Oct 16: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has claimed that the key eyewitness in Moodbidri Bajrang Dal activist murder case had received phone calls from Pakistan before allegedly committed suicide.

Addressing media persons in district BJP office on Friday Mr Kateel said that the murder of 29-year-old Prashant Poojary on October 9 and alleged suicide of key eyewitness Vaman Poojary on October 15 are part of a major conspiracy by some outfits.
The bizarre statement By MP came a day 65-year-old Vaman Poojary was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in a shed adjacent to his daughter’s house in Moodbidri.
Asked if he has proof to his claim to be true, Mr Kateel said that the family members of the deceased gave him this information.
Giving a clear message to the local Congress politicians and state government that BJP will make it a major political issue, the MP said that the city of Mangaluru will witness another major protest by the saffron party demanding justice to the murdered activist and his family members.
He said that former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has already given a deadline of October 19 to arrest the culprits and if the government fails to meet the deadline thousands of people will take to streets in Mangaluru.
Besides Yeddyurappa and Shobha Karandlaje several state level leaders of BJP including R Ashok, Suresh Kumar and Eshwarappa would take part in October 20 protest, he said.
