Mangaluru, Dec 29: Several Muslim organisations and associations in Manglauru have condemned and questioned the necessity of the decision of city police to ban the entry of Dr Zakir Naik for a week.

Representatives of South Karnataka Salafi Movement, Jama’ath-e-Islami Hind, Popular Front of India, Social Democratic Party of India, Highland Islamic Forum, Hope Foundation, Muslim Central Committee, Universal Welfare Forum, Hidaya Foundation and other groups had participated in the meeting.
The participants resolved to fight under one banner if they face similar situation in future. SKSM former president Ahmed Ansar presided over the meeting.
Dr CP Habeeb Rahman, DM Aslam, Haneef Khan Kodaje, Congress activist Abdurrahman, JDS activist Mohamed Kunhi were present among others.
Dr Zakir Naik was supposed deliver a talk on ‘What Is Islam’ at a peace conference organised by SKSM on January 2 at Nehru Maidan in Mangaluru.
The programme has been cancelled after the police banned the entry of the speaker following complaints from Hindutva groups, who had threatened of dire consequences if the government allowed to enter Dr Zakir Naik.
